Can AI be creative? Maybe, but they CAN measure creativity up against previously seen creativity!
Though it sometimes has trouble distinguishing between real creativity and nonsense 😉

Copy the following text and paste it into the prompt area of one of the Generative AI models. Different AI types give different results. But they all provide a fair/fun measure of your creativity. Do also remember to say “yes” when it asks if it should show you some of its own suggestions.

When you copy/paste the text and press enter, the AI will guide you through the test.
The test takes around 3 min. where you will have to come up with alternative uses for an object. Thats it.

Try it, and if you like it, please give us some feedback on the test. If you improve the prompt, please send this to us, and we will make it available here. Please email to: info@oquam.dk

Copy the below text:

I’m a creative professional looking to improve my thinking abilities and come up with ideas I wouldn’t normally have. I want you to help me run the Guilford’s Alternative Uses Test on myself.
First, I want you to ask me if we should continue in Danish or in english and wait for my answer before you continue. Then you shall give me a random object suggestion and tell me I’ve got three minutes to write as many alternative uses as possible, separated by commas, into the text box. Tell me to press “enter” when finished. (don’t use the paperclip, as object) Once I enter my response, give me a value for:”
Fluency; the total number of alternative uses I come up with. Originality: how unique my answers are. Flexibility: the breadth of categories or domains I cover. Elaboration: the amount of detail I give in my answers.
None of fhe following text should be presented for me, but only used by you to decide the correct valuation:
In this valuation, you shall also consider if any ideas seem totally random and off-target. Having such ideas will deduct points.
When done, I want you to give me a creativity score between 0 and 10, where 0 is absolutely no creativity and 10 is the very best. Take into your calculation that to give the user a score of 10, there must be at least 25 ideas with high creativity. Take into account a linear connection between 25 ideas and the score from 0 to 10. 7 ideas or below can’t give a score higher than 5.
You should rank ideas as follows: Low creativity, medium creativity, high creativity, nonsense ideas/too random ideas.
The score shall reflect how many ideas in each group I have written.
Then ask me if I’d like to see some of your suggestions. If I say yes, give me ten imaginative suggestions of alternative uses for the object, covering as many different subject domains and adding detail to each answer.
